Pune Bunts' Sangha, Pune
Bunts Sangha Pune was established in the year 1975. Few elderly Bunts namely Shri Govardhan Shetty, Late Shri Gunduraj M Shetty, Prof Subbanna Shetty, Shri Jagannath B Shetty and a few Bunts felt that Pune needed an organized sangha to bring the community members on a common platform for fellowship. Then there were hardly 200 Bunt families in Pune accounting for nearly 1000 Bunt individuals. They were from business establishments mainly the restaurant Industry
Today, Pune has around 2, 000 Bunt families and estimated 25, 000 individuals. The Bunts Sangha Pune has around 3, 000 members as of date. The main activities of Pune Bunts Sangha are focused towards fellowship. The Bunts from Pune meet yearly for sports meet, picnic and gather for Annual gathering which is the highlight of the community. Bunts Community of Pune now boasts of highly successful industrialists, hoteliers, professionals who have carved their own niche in the Pune society.
After 33 years of existence, Bunts of Pune dreamt of having their own Cultural centre which can be used for community activities. The dream is soon coming true! The project of cultural center is in advanced stage and scheduled to be completed in an year's time. The Cultural Center will have a fully air conditioned high-tech auditorium of capacity 1, 500, conference rooms, dining halls, 12 guest rooms and a cultural chavadi.
